The Group of Mathematical Physics of the University of LIsbon, Portugal, invites applications for a research post-doctoral position in Mathematics (project: Probabilistic approach to finite and infinite dimensional dynamical systems, PTDC/MAT/104173/2008)

The Group of Mathematical Physics of the University of Lisbon (http://gfm.cii.fc.ul.pt/en), Portugal, invites applications for two research post-doctoral positions in Mathematics within the scope of the following Portuguese Science Foundation project:

"Probabilistic approach to finite and infinite dimensional dynamical systems" (PTDC/MAT/104173/2008)

Positions are for one year, starting before the end of 2010, with the possibility of extension for a second year upon mutual agreement and budget approval. The salary is 17940 euros/year (tax free), and there are no teaching duties associated with the position.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Mathematics (or equivalent) obtained preferably after January 1, 2007, and must show very strong research promise in (at least) one of the relevant areas for the project:

  • Stochastic Analysis, Infinite dimensional Geometry
  • Integrable Systems, related areas of Algebraic or Poisson Geometry and Mechanics
