Twisted products arise frequently in mathematical physics. The Moyal product, Gabor analysis (in signal processing), the non-commutative torus and twisted group C*-algebras each involve an underlying twisted product structure. C*-dynamical systems provide a transparent description of a group 2-cocycle as a measure of the degree of twisting. Colloquium style.
