Group of Mathematical Physics
The Group of Mathematical Physics of the University of Lisbon (GFMUL or, for short, GFM) is a Research Center of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
The research of GFMUL was always evaluated as "Excellent" by FCT's panels (with the exception of 2013).
Our basic aim is to develop rigorous mathematical methods motivated by problems in modern Theoretical Physics. This is not only about making rigorous what physicists already know, but about providing them with new tools and ideas inspired by the most recent developments in the Mathematical Sciences.
GFM has been involved in the organization of European Study Groups with Industry in Portugal.
The topics currently developed by the GFM members belong to the following domains:
Advisory Board
Prof. Dr. Boguslaw
Zegarlinski (Directeur de recherche 1, CNRS: UMR 5219,
Univ. Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France)
Prof. Dr. Sergio
Albeverio (Univ. Bonn, Germany)
Secretariat
Margarida Antero (manferreira@fc.ul.pt)
GFM welcomes applications of excellent candidates for PhD and for post-doctoral positions. These applications are open to all candidates, independently of nationality or country of residence. Candidates will be considered on a competitive basis and in the limits of the resources made available to the GFM by the Portuguese National Science Foundation or other funding sources.

Financed by national funds thought FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a
Tecnologia, I.P., under the following project references:
